BOO! We’re just a few day’s away from the scariest time of year, Halloween. Trick or treat candy, scary flicks, haunted houses and of course Halloween costumes. The one day a year you can dress up like anything you want. A doctor, Madonna, batman, whatever, the list is endless; but your wallets are not! This year I say let’s go green and recycle our fabulous costumes from previous years or create a new one with the clothing and accessories from our own closets or friends. With this mission in mind, I started rummaging through my closet to create a few costume choices. You should always have plan A, B, and C when picking out an outfit cause you never know when to call in for back up. So choice A is a cat. Leather leggings (faux), black tube top, black boots and a $9.99 cat ear and tail set from Party City that I purchased last year.
Spiced up with MAC make-up to create cat smoky eyes, whiskers and a nose. Choice B and C are still under construction but are either a scary baseball player using my old baseball uniform and equipment or a prom queen. Hopefully I still fit into that size 4 dress. Ha! So when creating your Halloween ‘custom’ costume this year be sure to have plenty of make-up colors to choose from to create the special effects. Bold Make-up is a form of ‘pop’ color and can really transform your look. If you run into a dead end in your Halloween costume choices, just go as your fabulous self!

Hey Gab! Great blog! All the tips are helpful. The smokey eyes with the cat costume is perfect!! I wish I thought of it before I bought my costume. haha. For those who need to purchase a costume, I got mine at Mandee for $16. I don’t know what they have left now, but it’s not bad compared to $50 you see in the seasonal Halloween stores. Mandee had a few that could be worn out to any Halloween party and some that are strictly lingerie costumes for that special someone….whatever suits your needs! Keep up the good work Gab!!
